WHY it ALL Started

My Italian roots, more specifically, my Calabrian heritage, have always been a important part of my life. Learning about your history and heritage can help you understand how you became who you are. In fact, having a historical perspective of your heritage can serve as a guidepost and it often provides information about what you can expect in the future. This certainly does not mean that people don’t have free will, they do. But there definitely is a connection between the past and the future.

In early 2020, I was approached by one of the founders of Positional, Marco Rubbettino. He shared with me the company's vision, philosophy, products and most importantly I got to know all the people involved. He also discussed their desire to enter the US and Canadian markets and asked if I would like to be the North American marketing arm for Positional. I couldn’t believe the timing. I was just downsized from my corporate position a few months earlier and was left wondering what my next move would be? This it seemed made my decision easy.

After a few days of praying, discussing with Lisa, doing some research, we developed some thoughts and reasons for WHY.

Reason #1: These Products are an important part of a “Successful Life”

Whether it was the beginning of my career in insurance or my years as an executive, a few things were a constant part of personal growth. Staying organized with a daily planner and always having a notebook on hand to take notes in search of more knowledge to better myself and to share with others. 

Reason # 2: Connecting ‘MY TWO” Worlds

What a great way to share the heart & soul of Calabria and its incredibly loving and giving people.

Reason # 3: Honoring my Parents & Ancestors

Positional US is being built to honor my parents and other relatives who came to the US from Calabria, Italy and endured hardships, discrimination and made many sacrifices so that future generations of their families could live the “American Dream”.

This is how I am connecting the dots with my heritage. I hope you connect with yours. Remember, cultural heritage gives people a sense of unity and belonging within a group and allows them to better understand previous generations and the history of where they come from. Cultural heritage implies a shared bond and our belonging to a community.
